Swedish psychologist Klaas Tuvechern and the representative of the Canadian-Ukrainian police development project Dzhuli Devlin acquainted the students of the University with the concept of stress and the ways of overcoming it. The online event was assisted by the Advisory Mission of the European Union.
The speakers described the types of stress – short- and long-term, acute, cumulative. They focused on the factors of stress management in general and in war conditions in particular. The means for overcoming it and the techniques used for this, such as – positive communication, forms of deep breathing, mental repetition, etc. were mentioned.
After the lecture, experts from the Center for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” Yevhen Likarchuk and Oleksandra Burlachenko conducted an informative – training session “Basic Stress Management Skills” for the participants. The cadets did the exercises that will be useful for them in their future professional activities.
